Three shoes for the colder months ahead

October is upon us and it’s time to update the kids’ footwear for winter season. But what kind of shoes do you actually need to get through our darkest months? We have put together this quick guide with three different types of shoes that will keep your little ones feet warm and dry.

Functional for fall
Before the cold kicks in it’s not necessary to put on your warmest winter boots. It’s better to go for a functional shoe with thinner lining that keeps moisture and mud out.

Iggesund: Our popular sporty, waterproof textile shoe. A true companion for all your fall adventures.

Halland: The sibling to Iggesund, Halland is our waterproof sneaker. Washable in the washing machine, made from partly recycled material.

Fiskeby: The leather alternative for smaller feet. Fiskeby is a Kavat classic. Made in our durable XC-leather with a soft wool-blend lining.

Classic rubber boots – winter edition!
When it’s too cold for regular rubber boots, let us introduce Gimo, a beloved hero. The removable wool-blend sock in a rubber shell partly made of renewable resources is a safe bet when it comes to rainy days or thawing snow.

Leather for every weather
When the temperature drops, it’s time for the winter boots to come out and play. We have a wide variety of shoes that will do the trick regardless if you’re looking for a agile, waterproof textile boot or a durable leather boot with wool lining.

Yxhult: a true classic! First designed in the 70’s, Yxhult is a cornerstone at Kavat. Beloved by both kids and parents, this leather boot is guaranteed to keep those tiny toes warm.

Voxna: A flexible boot made from partly recycled materials. 100% waterproof. When it gets dirty – just throw it in the washing machine at 30°C.

Idre: With elastic lacing, Idre is easy to get in and out of. A crucial quality when you have to get out to the snow as quick as possible.

Broby: A sporty take on the winter boot. Broby is 100% water proof and the perfect companion at the schoolyard.

A few extra tips:
In winter time it’s important to have a little extra room in the shoes. The extra space allows the air to circulate inside the shoe which keeps the foot even warmer. If the shoe is to snug it can slow down the blood circulation and result in cold feet. Therefore we recommend a shoe that is 1-1,5 cm bigger than the foot. You can always add an extra sole or sock on cold days.
