A legacy of craftsmanship and quality. This year, we celebrate 80 years of quality, craftsmanship, and innovation – a journey that began in 1945 in a small shoe factory in Kumla. With a vision of creating high-quality footwear, Ragnar Karlsson founded Skofabriken Ymer, laying the foundation for what would become Kavat.

Step by step, sole by sole, Kavat grew into what it is today. From our first children's sandals in the 1940s to the launch of the iconic preschool shoes in the 1970s. From timeless classics to pioneering sustainable materials and earning the EU Ecolabel. Through it all, we’ve stayed true to our roots – honoring tradition while embracing the future.
